For a guild whose sacred founding doctrine literally translates to “effortless flow” and “doing absolutely nothing,” we seem to be exceptionally terrible at staying out of the history books.
If you had told us a while back that our ragtag squad of casual wanderers, tavern loungers, and emote enthusiasts would be making waves across the server, we would have choked on our tea. We honestly never imagined we would ever break into the Top 20, let alone claim the top spot. Yet, somehow, here we are, currently at 1st Place in Jesting God and officially climbing to No. 19 on Guild Prosperity with over 2.12 million points! So much for keeping a quiet, low profile.
Naturally, this unexpected spotlight attracted some peculiar visitors. Recently, members from a competing guild decided to waltz right into our arena specifically hunting for me, chasing rumors of some supposedly mythical "unicorn" female Guild Master.
It was rather strange that this was treated as such a spectacle or point of fascination in the first place. While they stood there attempting to stir up drama and rage-bait us, our guildies did what any close-knit martial arts family would do, immediately stepped up, fought them off, and enthusiastically beat them to a pulp.
The truth is simple. Who is sitting behind the screen doesn't matter. Gender doesn't swing a sword, execute mechanics, or run an arena. Furthermore, Wuwei is never a solo act. This guild isn't just about the Guild Master, it’s driven by our Vice Master, our VPs, our Senior Officers, and most importantly, the incredible members who show up every day.
During the encounter, the visitor skeptically probed our philosophy. They even took a jab at our competitive progression, scoffing at why we weren’t sitting pretty in Jesting Sage yet despite climbing into the top 20 Prosperity ranks.
To that, I can only offer our profound apologies, we are so terribly sorry that our guildies have busy lives, real-world jobs, sleep schedules, and families, instead of dedicating their mortal existence to sweating out brackets 24/7 on a video game. The sheer audacity of people having a work-life balance in the Jianghu, right?
When I went on to share how much effort we put into mentoring, coaching, and training our players, they scoffed again and asked, "What happens after people are trained? They just leave?"
To that, my answer is simple; that’s entirely up to them. If someone hones their skills with us, grows stronger, and eventually chooses to forge their own path, we celebrate them. We made a positive difference to the community, and that is what counts.
A huge testament to how we actually operate can be seen in our latest recorded clear of the Level 96 Snowfall’s Requiem Hero Realm [00:05]. If you watch the footage, nobody is sweating or screeching meta DPS parses. Instead, it’s pure, patient teamwork: coordinating who grabs the dropped leaves [00:53], setting markers so our healers can safely take down shields [04:40], and designating bodyguards to Lion Roar incoming waves towards the tree while our musicians tackle the Guqin [07:44]. Even when a bell mechanic goes sideways or boss aggro gets chaotic [10:28], everyone just laughs it off, regroups, and gets the job done together [20:09].
